The guests started to arrive for the Little Engine tasting event. The room was buzzing with people settling in and gathering around the long table. In their glass, was a special preview of Little Engine's upcoming Sauvignon Blanc via barrel sample. It was a raw and unfiltered taste into this year's vintage. There's nothing but great anticipation for when it's ready! Thank-you so much for sharing, Little Engine!
A BIG thank-you to all who attended our event with Little Engine Wines + Project Chef!
Thank-you so much Steven, Nicole and Scott of Little Engine for coming out to our little wine shop in Kitsilano and bringing us a taste of the Naramata Bench with your phenomenal wines. We loved hearing about your "Little Engine" story, the inspiration and passion that not only started the winery, but also the insane dedication in trying to make your best wines possible — and it shows! Kudos to your passion-driven team and your first vintage, Little Engine!
Thank-you Barb Finley, for bringing the whole Project Chef team on a field trip to join us tonight! We hope you all had a fantastic time. We love supporting your "Little Engine" story and love seeing the amazing work and difference all of you make in our children's classrooms!
The final pressing at Little Engine was the day before our event. Winemaker Scott Robinson literally still had purple-stained hands when he arrived at our shop for the tasting!
Along with the Sauvignon Blanc barrel samples, Scott brought skins, seeds and stems from the must of their recent Merlot crush to share with us. We gathered around to smell, touch and taste. So great to catch a glimpse of this part of the winemaking process. We are really looking forward to tasting the final Merlot next year!
Little Engine Winemaker Scott Robinson brought with him unfiltered barrel samples of Sauvignon Blanc for everyone to taste. What we tried was a result of copious amounts of blending experiments and we were told that it was pretty much the final blend! We really appreciated the opportunity to taste it — unanimous big thumbs up, Scott!
Along with Little Engine Wines, Scott is also a wine educator at Okanagan College, where he is a winemaking instructor. Scott received his Masters in the winemaking program at Addelaide University in Australia. He is part of the BC Wine and Grape council. Before Little Engine, he was formally at La Frenz.

Cheers to Little Engine's story and motto, "Dreams don't come true, dreams are made true". We couldn't agree more!
